WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

Beautiful, deep garnet color. Aromatically there’s this mysterious harmony I can’t fully describe but leaves me repeatedly placing my nose deep in the glass to simply enjoy each moment. With time to awaken in the glass, notes of cranberries, pure raspberry extract, rose petals, and newly sharpened pencils emerge. This delicious Sangiovese is rich and ripe with red and blue fruits, saline, and herbs. It is an elegant wine, showing more power than flash, and built to blossom with time in the cellar.

Today Leonetti Cellars is operated by brother and sister Chris and Amy Figgins, the grandson/daughter of Francesco and Rosa Leonetti. In 1977, their parents, Gary and Nancy Figgins founded Walla Walla Washington's first commercial winery. Gary thought it only appropriate to honor the Leonetti family name because it was from his parent's farm that he took cuttings of Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling in his pioneering vineyard.

In 1996 Chris joined the family business, after receiving a degree in horticulture. Amy joined the family business in 2007, she is the Estate manager and Partner at Leonetti Cellars, holding a degree in business. Chris is the CEO and winemaking director for Figgins Family Wine Estates including Leonetti, Figgins, a single vineyard Bordeaux style focused winery, and his newest endeavor, Toil, a small production Willamette brand focusing on Oregon Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The Walla Walla Valley represents the best of the Pacific Northwest wine industry for very good reason. This Valley has been a regional agricultural hub for more than a century, and it still abounds with crisp apples, juicy strawberries, tender asparagus, sumptuous sweet onions, and a cornucopia of other vibrant produce. Nearly 3,000 acres of prime vineyards and more than 120 remarkable wineries are just the most recent expression of a rich farming heritage.
