Founded in 1898 by Francesco Nicosia on the slopes of Mount Etna, this family run winery has been dedicated to producing world-class Sicilian wines for five generations.

Nicosia is one of the original Wineries to settle on Mount Etna and the area has grown to become one of the most exciting appellations in Italy. Mount Etna is the tallest active volcano on the European continent and it is the highest mountain in Italy south of the Alps. As a result of the volcanos active state the soil is incredibly fertile and gives the wines from this region a distinctive mineral edge indicative of the volcanic soil.

Nicosia is a dynamic, modern and efficient company that looks towards the future, but without forgetting tradition. It is currently headed by Carmelo Nicosia, assisted by his sons Francesco and Graziano and a close-knit team of young people such as enologist Maria Carella, who fully interpret the company spirit.
