Bodegas Dominio de Tares has been utilizing the full potential of the Mencia, Godello, and Prieto Picudo grape varieties in both the Bierzo DO and the Castile and Leon VT since 2000. These regions in north-western Spain have a rich winemaking history that has been revived to produce exceptional wines of globally renowned standards.

The regions of Castilla Y Lyon contains some of Spain's most notable Do's including Ribera del Duero, Toro, and Bierzo. The region is famous for its red wines and climate which is characterized by dry, hot summers and frigid winters where temperatures reach well below freezing.
