An all white wine pack inspired by the longer days and chilly nights of Spring. Of course, being based in Calgary we made sure to add in a couple fuller bodied white wines for spring snow days.
Pelassa 2021 Mario’s Bianco- Piemonte, Italy $24.95 This eclectic white blend is composed of Arneis, Favorita and Chardonnay. Together this harmonious blend gushes with exotic fruit notes like tangerine and pear with a little juicy green apple and a touch of almond. It is light and refreshing with plenty of complexity and a graceful balance. It’s basically Spring in a glass! Pair with grilled fish and clam pasta.
Spinning Top 2021 Sauvignon Blanc- Marlborough, Australia $25.95 Flashy and crisp, this New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is true to the classic style. Light bodied with a spine of pristine acidity balanced with juicy passionfruit, nectarine, lime and fresh grapefruit. Enjoy this wine as you soak in some sunshine on a patio! Winemaker Ant Moore was inspired by the ancient art of top spinning.
Sarah Selections ‘Latido de Sara’ 2021 Garnacha Blanca- Navarra, Spain $18.95 This wine comes to us from the oldest winery in Navarra, the neighbouring region to the famous Rioja. Latido de Sarah, “Sara’s heartbeat”, in honour of her late father. Their white Garnacha is medium-bodied and full of ripe orchard stone fruits – peaches, apricots, yellow plum – with hints of desert flowers and a thirst-quenching freshness. Keep this bottle in the fridge, ready to go for spring time company!
Weingut Thorsten Krieger 2021 Grauburgunder- Pfalz, Germany $27.95 Krieger family has been growing grapes and making wine on the hills of Pfalz since 1652. Grauburgunder is the German alias for Pinot Gris. This bottle is both elegant and supple with an extracted palate, oozing with notes of honey, juicy pear, yellow apple and an assertive but friendly spiciness. Pair this bottle with a crisp spring evening with BBQ chicken and spring vegetables.
Grayson 2020 Chardonnay- California, United States $26.95 This California Chardonnay is full bodied and balanced between showing off its oak influence and remaining vibrant, and thirst-quenching. Ripe stone fruit, vanilla and traces of minerality lead into flavours hinting at green apple and pineapple. Domaine Saint Roch 2020 Viognier- Languedoc-Roussillon, France A rich white from Jeff Carrel’s Domaine St Roch. It is full bodied with a creamy palate and a surprisingly refreshing finish. Tropical aromas of ripe papaya, banana bread, dried apricots, white pepper and white flowers. This wine is reminiscent of the warmer days yet to come. Enjoy with a piping hot bowl of pho.
