Since 1592 the Gondi family has been producing Chianti Rúfina at their Tenuta Bossi estate, northeast of Florence. Their wines have been renowned since the Renaissance and today, after centuries, are viewed with the same prestige.
The Pian dei Sorbi Chianti Rúfina Riserva is made of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Colorino, coming from the Villa Bossi estate, and harvested in early October of 2019. The wine sees approximately 24 months in barrel and 12 months in bottle before it’s released. Aromas of fresh cherries, stewed blackberries, cinnamon, cloves, leather and tobacco are echoed on the fresh, soft palate. The finish is long, with elegant tannins. Pair this with roasted or grilled meats, or your favourite pizza!
