WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

Composed of 50% Nero D’Avola and 50% Syrah, this red blend has aromas of red berries, black pepper spice with hints of tomato leaf. The palate is fresh and peasant with rounded tannin structure. Pair with baked meat lasagna or dishes with lots of vegetables.

The Ramaddini winery was founded in 2003 by Carlo Scollo and Francesco Ristuccia in south-eastern Sicily. The estate has grown from 20 to 28 hectares and contains native vines such as Nero d'Avola, Catarratto, Grillo as well as international varieties such as Shiraz, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc. The agricultural approach is based on sustainability and organic winemaking which they describe as “a sign of respect we have for the land.”

Sicily is the island off the toe of Italy's boot. Enviromental influences are plenty on the island, active volcano Mt Enta, salty see breeze to vicious winds off the Sahara desert all play a role in the character of Sicily's one of a kind wines.
