WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

The 2003 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a wine that aptly honors the legacy of its maker. The vintage was super hot, but careful cluster selection before appassimento means you never feel that extra warmth. In fact, this wine is exceptionally balanced and polished. It lasts many long minutes thanks to enduring notes of polished stone, candied berry, balsam spice and medicinal herb. They enlighten the palate like the golden streak of a comet on a midnight sky. Drink 2014-2028.

- Monica Larner, Wine Advocate / 94 Points

Giuseppe Quintarelli, known to most as Bepi, or "Maestro del Veneto" was a Valpolicella pioneer who created and helped define the rich, elegant style of modern Amarone. His small, well-hidden winery in the village of Negrar, is one of the most legendary wineries in Veneto and sits on same land where the family has lived since 1924. A perfectionist, Giuseppe crafted some of the world’s finest wines and since his death in 2012, his daughter Fiorenza, her husband Giampaolo and their sons carry on his important legacy and continue to make wines with an uncompromising attention to detail.

Veneto is home to famous regionally labelled wines like Amarone, Prosecco and of course Valpolicella. Veneto is the largest producing region in Italy, thanks mostly to the demand of Prosecco.
