In the footsteps of his ancestors, Pierre Jean Villa has been working the vineyards all of his life. He learned to make wine at Clos de Tart in Burgundy, it was here he learned to refine the elegance of the grape. He perfected his craft in the Rhone Valley working at Vins de Vienne. In 2009 he embarked on his own journey as independent wine grower. His son Hugo and daughter Pauline work the vineyards along side him and bottle their own wines under the Hugo and Pauline Villa brand.

Crozes Hermitage is located in the northern Rhone Valley. In Crozes Hermitage producers have the option of adding up to 15% of the Marsanne and Roussanne varieties. The co-fermentation stabilizes the colour and and moderates tannin extraction.
