WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 8 months in 350L French oak tonneaux, this 100% Sangiovese grosso wine posesses a dark ruby red color with notes of sweet oak, ripe fruit, chocolate and vanilla. The round palate finishes with hints of licorice.

Enjoy this with game meats, maybe a bison tenderloin with blackberry balsamic reduction.

The current owner of the estate, Tiziano Ciacci's grandfather, acquired the property in 1956 and was one of the original 25 founders of the Brunello di Montalcino Consortium, established in 1967. The Ciacci Family possesses a total of 43ha of land in Montalcino, but only 16ha are specifically devoted to wine production. Their annual output is a modest 150,000 bottles. In 2001, they acquired new land in the Tuscan Maremma, situated on the hills between the Tyrrhenian coast and Scansano, near the 14th century village of Montiano. This land, located at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level and facing south, enjoys a favorable microclimate influenced by nearby sea currents. The predominantly marl soil is easily crumbled by temperature changes and atmospheric agents, enriching the soil with essential mineral elements that contribute to the unique character of their wines.

Tuscany as a broader region includes famous areas including Montalcino and Chianti and of course the famous table wine, the Super Tuscan. The most planted variety is Sangiovese but international varieties are increasing in popularity with the critical acclaim of Super Tuscan style wines.
