WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

100% Tempranillo with aromas of red berries, dried cherries, cedar and tobacco. On the palate this is a medium to full bodied red with balanced acidity and well integrated tannins, while notes of vanilla, leather and toasted oak add complexity. This is a delightful wine to pair with grilled meats, stuffed peppers or tapas.

For 5 generations, the Puras family has been making wine and growing grapes in Rioja, Alta. The family focuses on combining modern innovations with family traditions in their winemaking. Daniel Puras oversees 11 hectares of Tempranillo vines planted in the limestone-clay soils of Briones, many of which exceed 60 years in age. He practices low-yield, eco-conscious viticulture—eschewing herbicides and minimizing treatments in favour of sustainable, quality-focused farming. Harvests are done by hand during the cooler early hours, ensuring the grape integrity is preserved from vine to winery. Daniel isn't just carrying on family traditions - he is elevating them and making them his own.

Located in Northwestern Spain in the area of Briones, Rioja Alta which is incredibly small with only a dozen or so wineries in the area. A wide variety of soil types is of huge importance to the area and is perfect for the most classic blends, but also for terroir influenced wines. Modern wineries started popping up around the railroad that stopped in Haro. The railroad opened in 1880 and was between Longrono and Bilboa. The first to arrive was R. Lopez de Heredia Landeta in 1877, followed by CVNE in 1879, and other notable houses followed!
