WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Champerrier has an eloquent nose of blackcurrant, rose petal, and light iodine aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins; it’s fleshy and has good a crunchy structure. Certainly a ripe Gevrey yet well-balanced with a very caressing and lingering finish. This will go in the cellar for a few decades.

Charles Magnien is part of Burgundy's new generation of great winemakers. In 2012 Charles took over the estate Domaine Henri Magnien. The family has been growing grapes in Burgundy since the 1600s, over 42 small plots, mostly in the famous village of Gevrey-Chambertin. The new generation of Burgundy is leaning into organic and biodynamic vineyard practices. They are dedicated to reviving the soils that endured the strife of chemical farming from the previous generation.

The main growing region of Burgundy spans from Dijon in the north through the Cote de Nuits, Cote de Beaune, Challonaise all the way through to Macconais. Chablis and Beaujolais too.
The primary varieties here are Chardonnay for white and Pinot Noir for red, you can also find Aligote and Gamay for a little variety.
Burgundy is a treasure chest of tiny vineyards with unique soil compositions and exposures that grant tiny plots the best conditions. The best red and white Burgundy rewards with time in The Cellar.
