WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

This old vine, high altitude Grunder Veltliner is known for its concentrated and stony character. After fermentation and aging predominantly in large stainless tanks (with 5% in large oak barrels), the wine is rested on lees for 4 months before being blended and bottled.

On the palate, vibrant flavors of pink grapefruit, crisp honey crisp apple, and tangy tangerine are accompanied by hints of white pepper and a lingering floral finish.

Try it with Grilled Sea Bass with Garlic Butter.

The modern and minimalistic winery built by Fred Loimer in 2000 turned heads of the locals. The black cube building built over 150 year old hand dug caves is a portrait of Fred's concept of sustainability. All of Loimer's wines are made naturally through spontaneous fermentation with out unnecessary chemical additions.

A region often overlooked by consumers but a Swiss Army Knife for Sommeliers. Austria's two great varietals are Rielsing and Gruner Veltliner. Typically produced in a bone dry style with great structure and minerality. These wines can be used like finishing salt for the most complex and difficult to pair dishes.

The ancient steep terraced vineyards of the Wachau region, overlooking the Danube river are a trademark of the region. The environmental influence from the Danube and the natural scale of the vineyards provide a landscape impossible to be duplicated by other regions.
