WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

Parej, meaning "In This Way," captures the essence of a classic Barolo—a blend of organic Nebbiolo grapes from three communes, including La Morra. Each block ferments and macerates separately in stainless steel before blending, followed by 30 months aging in a mix of barrique and tonneaux, then 12 months in bottle. Aromas of roasted cherries, warm clove, and star anise mingle with dried flowers and wild thyme. The palate is mouth-filling, layered with fresh and dried wild berries, oak spice, subtle earth, and super fine tannins for a refined, lingering finish.

Lino Icardi planted the first grapevine more than a century ago. Back then it was all about a small number of wine rows. Most of the grapes were sold back then while some were kept to make wine for the family.

The Icadri winery is located in Castiglione Tinella, within the Province of Cuneo, between the Lower Langa and the Monferrato Regions. The rolling hills are almost completely covered in vineyards as far as the eye can see.

Piedmont translates literally to "Foot of the Mountains" in this case, the Alps. The region has many parallels to Burgundy, vineyards handed down through generation, increasing demand paired with increasing price. The top grape of the region is Nebbiolo, labelled regionally as Barolo, Barbaresco or Langhe Nebbiolo. The wines that require long term aging reward time in the cellar, while you are waiting for them to mature, enjoy regional wines of Barbera or Dolcetto.
