WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

Fermented and macerated in stainless steel, this wine is aged for 20 months in lightly toasted French oak barrels, followed by an additional year in the bottle. Deep red with garnet highlights, it offers an intense bouquet of violet, wildflowers, black raspberry, sour cherry, and a hint of mint. On the palate, it is delicate yet expressive, with red fruits and Nebbiolo’s signature touch of tar. The finish is long and inviting, leaving you reaching for the next sip.

Lino Icardi planted the first grapevine more than a century ago. Back then it was all about a small number of wine rows. Most of the grapes were sold back then while some were kept to make wine for the family.

The Icadri winery is located in Castiglione Tinella, within the Province of Cuneo, between the Lower Langa and the Monferrato Regions. The rolling hills are almost completely covered in vineyards as far as the eye can see.

Piedmont translates literally to "Foot of the Mountains" in this case, the Alps. The region has many parallels to Burgundy, vineyards handed down through generation, increasing demand paired with increasing price. The top grape of the region is Nebbiolo, labelled regionally as Barolo, Barbaresco or Langhe Nebbiolo. The wines that require long term aging reward time in the cellar, while you are waiting for them to mature, enjoy regional wines of Barbera or Dolcetto.
