WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

"An absolutely amazing wine from the Nicolas family, this is from another estate in Pomerol that is pushing the envelope to higher and higher quality. The final blend has moved to smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc, now approximately 20%, with the balance 80% Merlot. Through crop-thinning, yields have been reduced to an average of 35 hectoliters per hectare. Inky bluish/purple color and stunning sweet tannins embrace a full-bodied opulent Pomerol with beautiful, floral-infused black raspberry, blueberry and cassis fruit. Full-bodied, yet elegant, this is a brilliant marriage between finesse and power. Stunningly pure, this wine can be drunk young or age magnificently for 20 or more years. Drink: 2015 - 2035"

- Robert Parker (100 points)

The name “La Conseillante” can be traced back 300 years, to when the influential Libourne merchant Catherine Conseillan purchased the estate and gave it the feminine version of her surname: La Conseillante. Nicknamed the “Iron Lady”, she undertook a programme of renovation at the estate and extended the surface area of the vineyard, taking the total to 12 hectares (nearly 30 acres). Five generations later, the vineyard’s layout, with its mosaic of plots, remains unchanged from that time.

Located on Bordeaux's right bank, Pomerol is home to some of the rarest soils of the region, coveted blue clay. Chateau Petrus, one of the most expensive wines in the world lays claim to the majority of this coveted soil, many other estates possess the soil at varying depths. The wines of Pomerol need time in your cellar to evolve to their fullest potential.
