WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

Violet, iris, perfumed berry, pine forest and baking spice aromas mingle in this fragrant, precise wine. The linear, focused palate offers cranberry, pomegranate, licorice and white pepper flavors alongside a backbone of vibrant acidity and youthfully austere tannins. Drink 2023–2043.

Located just outside of Barolo, this 0.7ha vineyard boasts 54 year old vines and unique geological characteristics. Originating from underwater turbid currents in the Helvetian area, the vineyard's diano sandstone soil is sandier than Cannubi, resulting in a wine with a solid structure. While it may not always be well-balanced when young, it is recommended to be consumed from the sixth year onwards.

Located in the charming town of Barolo, this family-run winery has been in operation since 1885 and takes its name from Giacomo Brezza, who introduced bottled wine in 1910 alongside his father Antonio. Surrounded by beautiful vineyards, as well as their own restaurant and hotel, the fourth generation proudly maintains 100% organic farming practices as part of their winemaking philosophy. Their dedication to the vineyard and use of natural methods like green manure and composting results in vines that have thrived for over 75 years.  In the cellar, they continue to use traditional methods, aging their wines in large Slavonian oak barrels with no filtering or clarifying.

Piedmont translates literally to "Foot of the Mountains" in this case, the Alps. The region has many parallels to Burgundy, vineyards handed down through generation, increasing demand paired with increasing price. The top grape of the region is Nebbiolo, labelled regionally as Barolo, Barbaresco or Langhe Nebbiolo. The wines that require long term aging reward time in the cellar, while you are waiting for them to mature, enjoy regional wines of Barbera or Dolcetto.
