WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

Château Langoa Barton is a classic Saint-Julien composed of 53.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot and 8.5% Cabernet Franc. Hand-harvested grapes from gravelly slopes are carefully sorted and fermented parcel by parcel in wooden vats, followed by around three weeks of maceration. Aged 16–18 months in French oak, 60% new, the wine is dense and deeply coloured, with black fruit, black cherry, mint and spice. The palate is powerful and structured, with precise tannins, a supple texture and a long finish. Enjoy now or cellar for 15–30 years as it develops greater depth and complexity.

Few Bordeaux estates can claim a family history like Château Langoa Barton. The Bartons arrived in Bordeaux from Ireland in 1722, and nearly 300 years later, the family is still making wine at Langoa Barton. Hugh Barton acquired the estate in 1821, drawn to its elegant château and gravelly Saint-Julien vineyards. Today, the 10th generation continues the family tradition, with the estate remaining proudly independent.
