WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

A Tempranillo based blend at 65% followed by 20% Garnacha; 15% Mazuelo, Graciano, Maturana and other varietals. This is a youthful, fruit forward wine with aromas of ripe blackberries, red plums and cherries. There are also hints of tobacco, sweet spice and vanilla. The palate is medium bodied with  great tannins and characteristics of juicy dark fruit and a subtle toast from oak aging.

Great with grilled meats, chorizo or a rich mushroom risotto!

Located in Rioja’s Ocón Valley, just southwest of Logroño, this is one of the region’s most distinctive estates. Once a hunting reserve, most of the 800-hectare property is still left wild, with only a small portion planted to vines. That mix of vineyards, forest, and wildlife supports a balanced ecosystem, enhancing biodiversity and creating a natural harmony you do not always see in Rioja. Led by winemaker Barbara Palacios, the wines balance tradition with a more modern, expressive style. This is a different side of Rioja, one that feels alive, vibrant, and full of character.

Rioja Oriental is one of the oldest wine regions in Spain, dating back to the Roman era. The region enjoyed a major boost in production in the late 19th CE during which wine merchants from Bordeaux arrived in search for supplies after battling mildew & phylloxera. There was great influence in oak barrels fro again — which is now a key characteristic of Rioja today!
