While lower yielding than average, 2021 was a standout vintage in terms of quality. Small, concentrated berries produced wines of concentration and depth which will only improve. Merryvale Vineyards has been owned by the Schlatter family since 2008. Rene Schlatter's mission is to acquire vineyard land through Napa Valley. It started with the Profile vineyard that sits adjacent to Heitz and Bond, on the hillside overlooking St.Helena. Today the family owns vineyards on Mt Veeder, Los Carneros as well as Coombsville, and their vineyard portfolio is still growing.

Napa Valley is host to some of the most diverse soil series in the world. It also benefits from a rare Mediterranean climate. These ideal conditions along with daily fog settling in the valley from San Pablo bay are an equation resulting in complex Cabernet's, Chardonnay's and more.
