WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

100% Tempranillo, this rich and robust Spanish red is generous with notes of ripe black cherry and juicy currants, a hint of violet and sweet baking spices. This wine, made by the Long family is a love letter to nature - specifically bees. Melea is the first wine to ally with 1% For the Planet, a percentage of the sales support environmental non-profits. Named for a rare bee species, these wines are truly the bee's knees!

Melea's vineyards are oganically certified, traditionally managed, dry-farmed in the Cuenca area of La Mancha. The vineyards were planted in 1999 and are at an altitude of 660m with sandy-clay soils, low in organic matter and high in chalk and limestone.

In the northeast corner of Spain, Catalonia's Mediterranean climate is shared by only 2% off the globe. The ideal growing conditions here present far fewer challenges in grape growing than other regions in Spain.
