This Chardonnay from Kurtin Alkur leans into freshness and clarity, offering a lighter expression than the richer styles that can be linked to warmer areas. With stainless-steel aging, its natural character stays bright and clean. Flavours of golden apple are framed by soft floral tones and a gentle trace of banana comes forward in a smooth and inviting way. It suits a wide range of dishes, but our top choice is to pair with scallops on a warm, sunny patio.

Martino, who founded the Azienda Agricola KURTIN in 1906, entrusted it to his son Giovanni, who was Mayor of Cormons between the two wars, and who in turn handed it to his son Eugenio, Eugenio to his son Albino and the latter to his son Alessio, who now runs it as if it were a sacred daughter.

Tradition and secular work from father to son for more than 100 years of history. In 1970 the farm became a winery, abandoning traditional crops, to direct the work exclusively on the production of wine and the planting of new vineyards.

In 2017, current CEO, Ulysses Bellesso fell in love with the company and its location, and he has brought new breath and a new commercial footprint to the family business.

Friuli Venezia Giulia is known worldwide for producing some of the best Italian white wines. Located in NE Italy between the Alps and the Adriatic sea, the region is also a destination for tourists, combining alpine air and a warm Adriatic breeze. This is the perfect microclimate for crisp, aromatic and complex wines.
