WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

Lagrein and Dolcetto wanted to enter into an equal and binding relationship, however, under Italian D.O.C. rules it is not possible for grapes from different regions to marry. In Langhorne Creek, Australia they believe in the freedom of grapes to choose their own relationship. Ben Glaetzer has married them together and we now call them Sposa e Sposa or 'Spouse and Spouse' to celebrate the legalization of gay marriage in Australia and support Australian Marriage Equality!

Robust, rich and ready to enjoy, this blend offers a subtle structure and a multilayered fruit driven palate. The fascinating Lagrein shows great complexity now that the vines have some age. Look for blackberries and black spice. The Dolcetto softens the palate and offers a burst of fruit to please and entice. Perfect on its own or paired with anything BBQ!

The Heartland wines are a favourite at Market Wines. Coming from esteemed winemaker Ben Glaetzer in a lesser known pocket of the Barossa valley called Langhorne Creek.

When most of the world fears floods, Langhorne Creek viticulturists welcome a good winter flood. The region is famous for flood irrigation, soaking the vines to sustain for the rest of the growing season. Located near to Adelaide Hills in South Australia, much of the grapes here go into bulk wine production but some producers see the value in the cooler climate region to produce wines with elegance and lifted aromatics.
