WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

Blend of Tempranillo 50%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20%, Syrah 20%, Merlot 10% and aged for 10 months in barrel. This red contains aromas of rich dark fruit including blackberries, and a well engrained smokey oak. This is a full bodied wine with silky tannins and plush dark fruit characteristics on the palate. Pair with beef stew, charcuterie or stuffed bell peppers.

The winery got its beginnings from José Manuel Fuentes’ story of passion for wine and his desire to return to his origins. The first plots were planted in 1998 with the first vintage being released in 2010. The vineyards are located between 950 and 1,000 metres above sea level making it one of the highest vineyards in Europe. This, alongside the location and distance from any Designation of Origin together defies the traditional cultivation limit, and demonstrate the extraordinarily singular characteristics of the vineyard.

One of Spain's largest growing regions, the area is known for both bulk production and quality-focused producers. They are primarily known for fresh, fruit-dominate wines but there is a growing movement towards more terroir driven, high quality production which showcases more oak use.
