WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

Domaine Lauriers offers up a wine that is bone dry with mouthwatering acidity. This Rolle is sure to make your tastebuds dance. Rolle is the indigenous name for the more commonly known grape Vermentino. Zesty and refreshing, this wine offers notes of green apple, lemon and pear backed by a saline and flinty minerality. Paired impeccably with local oysters or anything out of the ocean with bright mediterranean flavours.

Producer Domaine des Lauriers was established in Castelnau de Guers in the Hérault region by the Cabrol family in 1969. Having slowly expanded to cover 50ha of the Picpoul de Pinet appellation, Marc Cabrol farms the family’s vines amongst the red calcareous and marl soils that have made the region so popular. Rightfully regarded as some of the finest Picpoul in the region, the Cabrol family are one of few artisanal producers to craft their own wines.

Just south of Montpellier, the region of Picpoul de Pinet has it all. Coastal influence with cooling sea breezes, and proximity to a salty lagoon called Étang de Thau. Here is where you’ll find farmed mussels and the famed Boozingues oysters of the region. If you’ve ever hear the term “what grow together, goes together”; it couldn’t be more true here in Picpoul de Pinet! The local Picpoul Blanc and Rolle are famed for their signature bright acidity despite growing under the hote mediterranean sun.
