WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

This red blend is made with 70% Tempranillo and roughly 30% Syrah. On the noes there are aromas of vibrant black fruits of cherries and plum. There are also smokey, spicy notes of clove and wild violets. The palate is ripe, but well balanced leading to characteristics of black fruit, oak spice and pepper. Pair with BBQ chicken, hamburgers or a lentil stew.

The land was acquired by the Porcioles-Buixó family in 1992 and was initially intended to raise livestock. Once Juan de Porcioles was on the land, his ambition grew and he wanted to cultivate and produce wine on the land. With the help of friends and family, in 1998 planting was done by hand for the first vineyard, Vinya Vella. The first vintage was released in 2005 and is all organically farmed.

In the northeast corner of Spain, Catalonia's Mediterranean climate is shared by only 2% off the globe. The ideal growing conditions here present far fewer challenges in grape growing than other regions in Spain.
