WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

This white wine is made from 100% Hondarrabi Zuri which is the dominant white grape in Basque Country, Spain. On the nose there are aromas of light citrus, blossom with subtle qualities of fennel, quince and wet stone. The palate is rich from 5 month of lees aging with a zesty acidity which makes this the perfect paring for fish including sushi, grilled shrimp or a creamy lobster pasta!

Karlos Arguiñago had small plantings of vines and would make wine to use in his restaurant in town. His wines were always popular, but one year, he ended up with a surplus of grapes, making more wine than ever before! Karlos was blown away by the wine he made and after a few glasses of wine and a few jokes, the question was posed ‘Why don’t I make my own wine” And after a lot of hard work, the vineyards were born in 2005, the cellar and the first K5 vintage were born in 2010 and finally, K Pilota was born in 2015.

Basque Country is within Northern Spain right by the Bay of Biscay. This is an Atlantic Maritime climate, creating wines that are zesty and fresh —especially crips white wines to enjoy with seafood! The region is rocky and steep and due to this use terraced vineyards for their vines.
