WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

Les Frémiets sits on the border with Pommard, and the wine often shows the character of both villages. Its high proportion of old vines make a concentrated and deep wine; this is a polished, refined, and soulful Volnay.

The nose is invigorating with as little as 10% whole bunches, enough to add a floral note. This is lively on the palate, a Fremiets which has remembered it is in Volnay, not Pommard, delightfully stylish at the finish. Drink from 2032-2037. - Jasper Morris MW

Domaine des Epeneaux owes its name to the Clos des Epeneaux, a magnificent parcel of five hectares acquired by Nicolas Marey at the end of the 18th, beginning of the 19th century.

Today, Domaine des Epeneaux constitutes a total surface area of 9 hectares in Epeneaux, Auxey Duresses and Volnay, and is more committed than ever to producing wines that are true expressions of their terroir.

The main growing region of Burgundy spans from Dijon in the north through the Cote de Nuits, Cote de Beaune, Challonaise all the way through to Macconais. Chablis and Beaujolais too.
The primary varieties here are Chardonnay for white and Pinot Noir for red, you can also find Aligote and Gamay for a little variety.
