The Fiuza family's wine making tradition dates back to the early 20th century. In 1985, Fiuza and Australian winemaker Peter Bright joined forces to create the winery of their namesake. They were some of the first to plant French varietals in Portugal.

Tejo wines are some of the most vibrant and affordable emerging from Portugal today, and offer a diverse array of styles that appeal to a variety of tastes and budgets. Tejo's native red grapes include the bold Touriga Nacional, Portugal's most famous varietal, as well as Trincadeira, Castelão and Aragonês
