WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

"My taste suggested that this is one of the all-time great Latours from a ripe vintage, but a style that is lavish while not over-the-top. The 2003 will need to be watched with care, as it seems to be on a relatively fast evolutionary track. Nevertheless, it is a spectacular wine and one of the great Bordeaux of this vintage along with Montrose and Lafite Rothschild. These three wines achieve perfection."

-Robert Parker (100 points)

Chateau Latour is one of the oldest continuous Bordeaux wine-producing properties in the Pauillac appellation with a history dating all the way back to the 14th century. The estate takes its name from the original Saint-Lambert tower placed close to the chateau that was created in the second half of the 14th century.

Their aim is to combine power, concentration, purity, with just a hint of austerity. They produce wines that are full-bodied coupled with that beautiful purity of fruit, velvet, refined tannins, and layers of cassis, earth, truffle, spice, and tobacco flavors.

Paulliac is located on the left bank of Bordeaux and dominates the rest of Bordeaux with concentration of first growth properties. The gravel soils produce powerful and age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignons.
