WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:
‘El Rapolao’ refers to a prized, single vineyard appellation in Bierzo that is farmed by a handful of producers. This 7 hectare plot was planted in the 1970s and sits on red clay and alluvial soils. Composed of 100% Mencia, the grapes are left as whole bunches to ferment, and then 50% of the wine is matured in oak barrels for 8 months. The result is a complex, bold and elegant wine. Dark fruits like blackberry and cassis wrapped up in flavours of coffee and mint.
