WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

This Chardonnay opens with aromatics of citrus zest, white florals, and wet stone. Followed by hints of baked apple and a light spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied, offering a creamy texture lifted by bright acidity. A mineral-driven backbone carries through to a long, fresh finish. Pair alongside roasted chicken, creamy pasta dishes or pork loin with herbs.

Today Leonetti Cellars is operated by brother and sister Chris and Amy Figgins, the grandson/daughter of Francesco and Rosa Leonetti. In 1977, their parents, Gary and Nancy Figgins founded Walla Walla Washington's first commercial winery. Gary thought it only appropriate to honor the Leonetti family name because it was from his parent's farm that he took cuttings of Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling in his pioneering vineyard.

In 1996 Chris joined the family business, after receiving a degree in horticulture. Amy joined the family business in 2007, she is the Estate manager and Partner at Leonetti Cellars, holding a degree in business. Chris is the CEO and winemaking director for Figgins Family Wine Estates including Leonetti, Figgins, a single vineyard Bordeaux style focused winery, and his newest endeavor, Toil, a small production Willamette brand focusing on Oregon Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Willamette (pronounced the same as Dammit - Willamette Dammit!) is the largest AVA in Oregon. Within the viticultural area, there are 11 smaller nested AVA's with a unique character that dictates the delineation. The climate here is generally characterized as cool, with influences from the Pacific Ocean. The region is famous for Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, but also produces noteworthy Chardonnay, Riesling, and many others!
