This estate was established by the Marengo family in 1899. Today, Marco and Eugenia (Jenny) Marengo hold some of the finest, south-facing, mid-slope vineyards in Brunate. They own just 6 ha in total, and still don't have a website. So while this estate is perhaps a bit under the radar with some of the more famous houses garnering much of the press and acclaim. Piedmont translates literally to "Foot of the Mountains" in this case, the Alps. The region has many parallels to Burgundy, vineyards handed down through generation, increasing demand paired with increasing price. The top grape of the region is Nebbiolo, labelled regionally as Barolo, Barbaresco or Langhe Nebbiolo.
