WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

This wine features a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Vaccarèse, and Carignan grapes from 5- to 30-year-old vines. Fermented and aged in tanks, it maintains its fresh and lively aroma of violets, spices, and blue/black fruit. The acidity gives it a vibrant flavor, with hints of blackberry, pepper, mushroom, and chocolate. Perfect for drinking, it can even be served slightly chilled for a refreshing summer experience.

Philippe Bravay has been the lead of Domaine de Ferrand since 1997, delighting wine enthusiasts with their Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes-du-Rhône offerings.

With a meticulous approach to winemaking, Bravay uses organic methods and minimal intervention to capture the terroir of their 17 hectares of vineyards. The estate's ancient vines, some dating back to 1904, produce wines of impressive complexity and depth.

Bravay's preference for aging in concrete tanks and old foudres instead of barriques, as well as avoiding racking or blending until bottling, brilliantly showcases the wines' unmasked purity and vibrancy.

The Rhone Valley is blessed with an ideal combination of contrasting climate influences. The round stones that were created by glaciers moving and rolling rivers reflect heat upon the vines to encourage ripening. The stones retain the heat into the night which is needed when the mistral wind starts gusting down the Rhone Valley starting near Dijon. The mistral wind could blow the ears off a donkey. The vines need to be staked down to prevent them from blowing over but the benefit is that it cools the vines and retains acidity, essential for aging.
