WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

The Manzone 2018 Barolo Gramolere is toasty and generous on first nose with baking spice, Spanish cedar and mahogany wood. The oak imprint is strong, and it takes a little while before the wine begins to show dark primary fruit, plum, steeped tea and black rose. The Gramolere Vineyard in Monforte d'Alba is planted to 30-year-old vines, and the wine is structured and fresh.

- Robert Parker / 93 points

Five generations of winemakers and more than a hundred years of history. The same vineyards and the same plots handed down from father to son, in one of the most suitable areas of the hills of Barolo, between Monforte and Serralunga dAlba.

The Manzone family expresses the essence of Langa: humble origins that have made wines great, because they were born out of an authentic passion for their beloved hills.

Piedmont translates literally to "Foot of the Mountains" in this case, the Alps. The region has many parallels to Burgundy, vineyards handed down through generation, increasing demand paired with increasing price. The top grape of the region is Nebbiolo, labelled regionally as Barolo, Barbaresco or Langhe Nebbiolo. The wines that require long term aging reward time in the cellar, while you are waiting for them to mature, enjoy regional wines of Barbera or Dolcetto.
