WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

"Aromas of sweet earth, red fruits, leather, truffles, and Porcini mushrooms remind us of a forager’s basket. Leafy forest floor, aromatic spices and fresh cut wood are well integrated and become appetizing accents. The fruit flavors of “La Vouge” also come from a walk in the woods; wild berries, currants, cherries, and Damson plums with their soft, sweet flesh and perfectly balanced acidity." - Douglas Danielak

Douglas and his wife Mary have worked diligently to "build a bridge between the Old World and New," working with Burgundian clones to produce elegantly crafted wines in the heart of California wine country. Years of study and practice with famed winemakers like Frederic Mugnier and as a sought-after consultant in Napa, Douglas is a wealth of knowledge and delivers his craft through tasting, storytelling, and inspiration.

The Sonoma AVA is on one side of the Mayacamas mountain range and Napa is on the other. Thanks to the proximty to the Pacific ocean, the cooling influences ease growth of the otherwise challenging Pinot Noir grape.
