WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

Insanely stylish, showcasing tones of blackcurrant, raspberries, and peppery goodness. Its velvety texture evokes a sense of a Pinot Noir from Burgundy. Impeccably harmonious acidity gives way to a luxuriously drawn-out, polished finale with hints of zesty seasoning.

In the 1980's the Ogier family began vinifying their own wines. Stephane Ogier has been heralded as the face of the new generation of the Northern Rhone. He studied in Beaune and brings Burgundian techniques such as vinifiying parcels seperately and using oak sparingly. While his top wines receive incredible praise from critics his appellation wines deserve a look, they over deliver for their modest price tag.

The Rhone Valley is blessed with an ideal combination of contrasting climate influences. The round stones that were created by glaciers moving and rolling rivers reflect heat upon the vines to encourage ripening. The stones retain the heat into the night which is needed when the mistral wind starts gusting down the Rhone Valley starting near Dijon. The mistral wind could blow the ears off a donkey. The vines need to be staked down to prevent them from blowing over but the benefit is that it cools the vines and retains acidity, essential for aging.
