WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

Marietta winemaker, Scott Bilbro named this wine after his great uncle. This wine is a tribute to him and the part of California he loved to fish so dearly. An estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon with splashes of Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot, this full bodied, dense wine is sure to please! This wine is drenched in flavour and complexity. Notes of plum, homemade blueberry jam, violets, mushroom and licorice with ample structure and tannins.

Marietta Cellars began with a small purchase of grapes in 1978 and has since become a beloved winery in Sonoma and Mendocino. Founded by Chris Bilbro, a native of Sonoma County with a long family history in winemaking, Marietta gained attention for its ground-breaking Old Vine Red - a California blend that set the standard for the category. Over the years, the winery has expanded its estate and now features a portfolio of high-quality, balanced wines including Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Rhône blends. With 310 acres of vineyards in the Alexander Valley, McDowell Valley, and Yorkville Highlands, Marietta is now fully dedicated to organic farming. Among their notable heritage plantings are the oldest Syrah blocks in California, which were planted in the late 1800s.

Napa Valley is host to some of the most diverse soil series in the world. It also benefits from a rare Mediterranean climate. These ideal conditions along with daily fog settling in the valley from San Pablo bay are an equation resulting in complex Cabernet's, Chardonnay's and more.
