Charles Magnien is part of the dynamic, younger generation of Cote de Nuits winemakers. He has a monopoly on this unique half hectare clos of 45 year old vines, named for a mid 18th century soldier and pirate. This is his first vintage from Clos Franois Thurot. It shows a delightful crimson purple colour. The nose is very sensual on the cusp of red and black fruit, while maintaining precision. A fresh crunchy finish. A very interesting debut.
