WE LOVE IT BECAUSE:

This cuvée is named after Cyril’s great-grandmother , who continued the vineyard work, ultimately saving the Domaine, after her husband’s death in World War I.  He attributes everything they have to her determination and efforts.  The wine is a blend of their oldest vines throughout the commune, producing wines of great finesse, elegance, and minerality. Aromas of cherries, red berries, peonies and spice with an elegant and fresh finish.

The family has been growing and making wine for five generations now, but it wasn’t until 1972 when Charles took over that the focus moved from selling grapes and wines locally to truly building the Domaine and improving their reputation. Charles took the Domaine from 2.5ha to its current 14ha. In 2009, Cyril - Charles’ son, took the reins. It was during this transition that Cyril put a more significant focus on deepening the quality of production, transitioned the estate into organics, and has a keen attention to the overall environmental health and influence of the vineyards. Cyril is gaining much respect within Burgundy and is a pinnacle of what great Marsannay can be – pure, precise and seamless.

A mere 260m away from Bruno Clair, we find the Domaine of Charles Audoin, a 14ha certified organic family estate in the commune of Marsannay. A pinnacle wine region in the regarded Cotes Du Nuits, Marsannay is known to produce wines of generous red fruit, spice and underlying minerality. Marsannay’s history of rosé production kept it out of appellation status until 1987, when it finally received a designation and the recognition it deserved.
