The Usseglio family first started making wine in Chateauneuf du Pape after World War 2. Their first vintage was released in 1949. They have since converted their vineyards to organic and biodynamic certified. The Fragments is composed predominantly of Grenache, with smaller “fragments” of Syrah, Mourvedre, Counoise, and Clairette Rose, a mutation of the white grape Clairette. This wine is full of savoury and spicy characters, behind a base of ripe black fruits. This wine sees no oak so the fruit absolutely shines, with a tartness from the bright acidity and fresh fruity notes. Enjoy with a pork tenderloin.
