We’re SO excited for our upcoming Tour de France wine festival coming up on Saturday, September 30th, so we decided to start celebrating early with an all French wine pack, featuring Alsace, Burgundy, the Rhône Valley, Languedoc-Roussillon, the Loire Valley and, of course, Bordeaux!
Marc Kreydenweiss NV Lune A Boire Bulle – Alsace, France $41.95
“La Bulle is a wine to celebrate life” is how Antoine Kreydenweiss would describe it. A blend of Pinot Blanc, Auxerrois and Chardonnay. Notes of lemon, honey, green apple and white flowers. This wine is biodynamic and made without any additional sulphites.
Domaine Paul Garaudet 2021 Bourgogne Blanc – Burgundy, France $59.95
Domaine Paul Garaudet is based in Monthalie in Burgundy. This Bourgogne Blanc comes from old vines just outside of Meursault. An elegant wine with aromas and flavours of lemon curd; ripe orchard fruit like apples and pears; almond flour pastry, vanilla bean; and a generous sprinkle of Maldon salt. This wine will make a beautiful gift for a Chardonnay lover in your life! Enjoy with delicate seafood dishes like scallops.
Château L’Ermite D’Auzan 2022 Rosé – Rhône Valley, France $25.95
Château L’Ermite is one of our favourite finds from Costieres de Nimes the south of France. The winery has been operated by the Castillon family for four generations! The vineyards face the Mediterranean Sea and bask in the sunshine while enjoying cooling ocean breezes. This lovely rosé is a blend of 50% Cinsault & 50% Grenache which have been direct pressed and bottled early for optimal freshness. Notes of underripe strawberry, peach and grapefruit are met with a dusting of Provencal herbs. Pair this with your favourite patio and some light snacks!
Henri Pion 2021 Signature Pinot Noir – Languedoc-Roussillon, France $27.95
This Pinot Noir comes from two distinct terroirs; one is higher, at around 300m above sea-level, the other is more maritime and windy. The resulting wine is fresh and easy drinking with notes of cherry, blackberry and earthy mushroom. The tannins are fine and the finish is dry, with a dusting of all-spice.
Les 7 Lieux Dits 2019 ‘Les Poyeux’ Cabernet Franc – Loire Valley, France $27.95
We love Loire Valley Cabernet Franc! On the nose this wine has notes of raspberries, ripe blackberries, and strawberry leaf. On the palate this wine balances its fruity flavour profile with spice and coffee notes. Enjoy this wine with braised lamb with gremolata.
Château Marceau-Launay 2018 Bordeaux – Bordeaux, France $21.95
Situated 30 kms north of Saint-Émilion with 58 hectares of vines, Château Marceau-Launay produces this Vin de Bordeaux made predominantly from Merlot and smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Red fruits, earthy tones with a big, rich texture, pair this red with roast beef or poultry, or a selection of your favourite cheeses!
