We started working with Schneider just last year and the wines became instant favorites for staff and customers alike. But we all thought it was a bit strange that this Austrian winery didn’t have an offering of that most famous of all Austrian grapes – Gruner Veltliner. So we asked them why they didn’t make one and this is where our story gets interesting: they replied that in fact they did make one, but it was only offered to the Austrian market and not for export. Naturally we decided that we had to have some. We argued that there were thirsty Calgarians that deserved this wine as much as any Austrian did – to which they finally agreed! They asked us if we minded that the wine was served up in one-liter bottles and sealed with a simple screw cap. We said we wouldn’t have it any other way, and we think you’ll agree, because once you taste this fragrant, juicy and oh-so delicious dry white wine, you’re going to want as much of it as you can get! Come to think of it, one liter doesn’t sound like enough.
