Nestled in the heart of the French Alps, the Perret family has been settled in the village of Jongieux (Savoie, France) since 1927. 3 generations later, they are producing some of the top wines of the region. An area more famous for skiing than wine, it is here that the lesser known grape varietals such as Mondeuse, Jacquere and Altesse are found. After studying in Burgundy, Nicolas Perret took over the management of the winery and strives to keep the true expression of the region alive through his wines.
Jacquere is the quintessential Savoie grape varietal. Uber-refreshing, it is delicate and soft on the palate with notes of wildflowers, green apple, and pear. It is dry with great minerality that adds a zesty zip to the finish. It ultimately pairs best with high-Alpine cheeses or fondue, but it definitely compliments fresh seafood! At 11.5% alc., you can have a few glasses without being knocked off your feet.
