The 2018 vintage for Barolo came with some challenges but is ultimately characteriszed with finesse and charm- this bottle from Marengo is no differnt! The Marengo winery was founded in the late 19th century. The winery continues to be exclusively family-run. This Barolo is dense and dark with notes of dried orange peel, warm olives, bitter cocoa, fern and eucaplytus. This is an excellent wine to gift someone for a birthday or a celebratory achievement. It can be cellared for 5-8 more years. If you don’t want to wait that long, be sure to decant for at least 2 hours.
