Since 1592 the Gondi family has been producing Chianti Rufina at their Tenuta Bossi estate, northeast of Florence. Their wines have been renowned since the Renaissance and today, after centuries, are viewed with the same prestige. \n \nThe 2021 San Giuliano Chianti Rufina is a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Colorino & 10% Merlot coming from the Villa Bossi estate, and harvested in late September of 2021. The wine sees approximately 15 months in barrel and 6 months in bottle before it's released. Intensely fruity with notes of raspberries, blackberries, tart red cherry and tomato leaf, this young wine has soft tannins and a supple finish. The perfect pizza wine!

Tuscany as a broader region includes famous areas including Montalcino and Chianti and of course the famous table wine, the Super Tuscan. The most planted variety is Sangiovese but international varieties are increasing in popularity with the critical acclaim of Super Tuscan style wines.
