Winemaker Charles Magnien is part of a younger generation of winemakers in Gevrey-Chambertin. Although his family’s domaine is considering relatively young for the area, most of their vines are much older. This Vieilles Vignes really showcases what the higher end wines have to offer. Made from 40-100 year old vines from the 8 plots that they own throughout Gevrey-Chamberine. The fruit notes are darker here with raspberry and strawberry vying for supremacy. There is a noticeable amount of depth, and suppleness of fruit from the old vines. A fine, balanced and precise Gevrey. Drink from 2026-2030.
