Another delicious red (Tinto) from Rui Roboredo Madeira from Portugal’s Beira Interior wine region, where we see the schist soils from lower in the Douro river valley turn to granite and quartz veined land at much higher altitudes. Soft, fruit-forward and fresh, his Beyra red is made from the region’s Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional grape varieties. Enjoy it with appetizers and cheeses, or more traditionally with Mediterranean lamb dishes.
