Jeff Carrel NV Bistrologie – Languedoc-Roussillon, France $22.95 x 2
If you’ve enjoyed sublime, long lunches on the patios of Parisian cafes’ this wine will transport you back to those idyllic moments. If you haven’t knocked Paris off the bucket list, we suggest grabbing a baguette, a smattering of meats and cheeses and a bottle of this and indulge yourself in the fantasy! An easy drinking blend of Pinot Noir, Grenache, Carignan and more!
Villa Des Anges 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon – Languedoc-Roussillon, France $19.95 x 2
This Cabernet Sauvignon is from Jeff Carrel in the Languedoc. It is made entirely from Cabernet, and shows a slightly lighter style, with a medium body. It has lots of earth notes, dark chocolate, and ripe dark fruit, black currant and bramble. This is a fantastic wine to enjoy during barbeque season (which is every season) with grilled meats, or on its own.
Jeff Carrel 2021 Les Darons Rouge – Languedoc-Roussillon, France $23.95 x 2
A Grenache dominated cuvee blended with 20% Syrah and 5% Carignan, the 2021 Languedoc Rouge sports a deep ruby color to go with juicy, fruit-forward notes of berry fruits, cracked pepper, leafy herbs and wildflowers. Juicy and supple, with lots of sweet fruit, it stays elegant and silky on the palate, with medium-bodied richness and nicely integrated acidity. It’s a terrific value and will keep for 4-5 years. Try it with anything that comes off the BBQ (gotta love those Chinooks that allow us Calgarians to BBQ year round, eh?)
